In a fast paced modern world, often we May end up losing ourselves and neglecting our personal life. There is no harm keeping up but not at the cost of caring for yourself.
In the modern world of Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter. Looks Matter. Back in the day in order to enhance our looks. all we had to depend on was makeup. But today, the apps on our phone have so many filters that you can make your face look stunning in moments. And wanting to look good is not bad.
The only problem is life now tends more towards show biz.
Whether we are good looking or not, we have to show that we are.Whether we are happy or not, we have to portray that we are.Whether we are smart or not, we have to that impress that we are.Whether we are rich or not, we have to display that we are.
And in the course of this social drama, as we keep acting, often we don't realise how far we may end up moving away from our authentic, original life. And in that distance we may even end up losing our own self.
Someone has said these beautiful lines: Just as the musk deer is going around in the forest tracing the fragrance of musk, not knowing that it is within itself.

Everything seems to be perishable and temporary and although. I am not in me but am so full of me. Friends, that more we display our photoshopped images on social media, That's how much or even more we need to introspect internally, showing ourselves a mirror in the mind. Because the mirror doesn't cheat. Nor does it flatter or hide those things that we want to cover up. The mirror speaks the truth. It introduces us to our true self. It shows us our flaws and thus gives us as impetus to improve ourselves. And when we see our weaknessess, it is definitely uncomfortable. But trust me when we face them, our life is transformed.
Which is why. I often say: We may have acquired expertise in putting up a false show in front of the world, but let us not deceive ourself and God.
